Trying to build lilypond-2.8.0-r1 causes emerge to build ghostscript-gnu, even though ghostscript-gpl should satisfy dependencies. The ebuild currently only recognizes ghostscript-esp-8, ghostscript-afpl-8, and ghostscript-gnu-8 even though ghostscript-afpl-8 appears to have been deprecated in favor of ghostscript-gpl-8. The ebuild should be modified to allow ghostscript-gpl-8 as a dependency.
It should be modified to use the virtual instead...
It appears that lilypond depends on ghostscript-8 or higher. There does not seem to be a way to require that a virtual dependency has a minimal version number since this would not make sense with completely independent packages that satisfy a virtual, unlike the situation with ghostscript packages which all derive from the same codebase. If lilypond can work with ghostscript prior to version 8, then a virtual dependency would be the best way to go.
afpl has been removed some time ago. All ghostscript ebuilds have version 8 stable, so the virtual can be used. I am closing this bug?
genstef was so kind to commit dependency on the virtual, so I close it. Thank you for watching our program.
