Description Morten Cools 2006-06-28 10:26:14 UTC
OK, this is one of the weirder bug-reports I have filed...

During the emerge of evolution-2.6.2, something will go very wrong, and a line with a single 'y' will be printed over and over again in a seemingly endless loop... (Endless to the point that I have a 4 gig log file in /var/log/portage, and all apps were killed due to lack of resources when I got home today...)

Evolution is emerged with:
[ebuild U ] mail-client/evolution-2.6.2 [2.6.1] USE="crypt dbus gstreamer hal ipv6 ldap spell ssl -bogofilter -debug -doc -kerberos -krb4 -mono -nntp -pda -profile -widescreen"

Comment 3 Morten Cools 2006-06-28 14:39:43 UTC
The cause of this bug is confcache... Emerging evolution-2.6.2 without confcache gives no problems whatsoever... It should be reassigned...
Comment 4 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-03 08:45:33 UTC
Did you make sure you deleted the cache, when switching the used compiler version? Confcache doesn't care about that and has been masked again, therefore.
Comment 5 Morten Cools 2006-07-03 09:08:42 UTC
This shouldn't be an issue, since gcc was last emerged here on jun 7, whereas confache wasn't installed on my system until jun 13. Beyond that, I am not aware of manually switching between gcc versions, and gcc-4.1.1 is still standard compiler here...
Comment 6 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-21 04:05:36 UTC
confcache is now package.masked; reopen if you have a patch.
