i've recently updated world and it seems that my compiler has some major problems. i can't seem to configure anything at all atm and i don't know what went wrong. i've tried revdep-rebuild without luck.

Well, it's looking for binutils 2.16.1 which you don't have any more. Tried to run binutils-config to set 2.17?
