Hi, I had to drop the ppc64 keyword from the new version (20060507) of sci-biology/ncbi-tools because I switched the build system to use pmake instead of GNU make. (pmake is not keyworded for ppc64.)
Hey I looked into keywording this and pmake quickly but ran into a snag. I'll see about getting to it tonight or this afternoon. The problem is that ppc64 Makefile for ncbi-tools wants to hook in the xlc (the IBM) compiler! I had produced a patch before to take care of this, but the patch does not apply cleanly to the code. I'll have to dig a little deeper.
Ok, need a fix before this can be keyworded. If you guys copy the current lop patch to match the ebuild version, we're good to go to ~ppc64 here. i.e. cp files/ncbi-tools-20050605-lop.patch files/ncbi-tools-20060507-lop.patch Then it builds fine. Add that into tree and I will be happy to give it one more sanity test and keyword it. If you prefer I add the patch into the tree, I can do this as well and keyword myself. Wait to here from ya.
Sorry, my stupid mistake. I just fixed the ebuilds and renamed the patch to make it version independent, as it is unlikely to be merged upstream. (Everyone is afraid to touch the build system, least it breaks.) With that fixed and pmake supported, ncbi-tools can be keyworded ppc64 again, I think. I will let you do that if you think everything works correctly again. Thanks,
pmake and ncbi-tools now marked ~ppc64. thanks.
