Description Wernfried Haas (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-25 01:30:30 UTC
After upgrading ncurses to 5.5-r2 the screen is garbled after switching from one mail to another. Pressing ctrl-l redraws the screen correctly. Using ncurses 5.4-r6 works fine. Using xterm instead of Eterm works fine, too.
Versions installed:

x11-terms/eterm-0.9.3-r4
mail-client/muttng-20060415

I don't see any obvious differences between TERM=Eterm and TERM=xterm
running on Debian/testing - the terminfo's don't differ in the area of
clearing text. To verify that it's related to the terminfo, I'd make
a typescript using 'script' and analyze that (verify that cat'ing the
typescript on a comparable terminal type gives the same result, see what
escape sequences it's using via the unmap utility on my ncurses ftp site,
etc).

Oops. Sorry to bother you guys, i just noticed i had some screwup, causing a wrongly set TERM. Having that fixed everything seems to work as intended - a classical PEBKAC problem. ;-)
