This is an ebuild for quake3 1.31 I wrote. It works for me so far. It's suitable for playing as well as a dedicated server. A startscript is included which uses screen so you can get back to the console anytime. The Server is started under user q3 for all the security conscious ;) The user is added in pkg_postinst and removed in postrm. I don't know if that's ok please tell me.

Well I forgot to say: If that's ok with you I can be maintainer of this ebuild as well as #1379 #1380 #1382 #1389 (being quake addon ebuilds and halflife/counterstrike ebuilds) If you want to incorparate any of this ebuilds (regardless of me becoming maintainer or not you should check http://stud.upb.de/~q9tharkun/ for the newest version of my ebuilds (the cpma ebuild for example has been updated)
if it helps to accelerate the addition of this ebuild to the portage tree, i tried it out and works great ...
