When using net-misc/openntpd-3.7_p1 (and most probably 3.9_p1) in a properly leap second-corrected environment (i.e., with a zone info file from /usr/share/zoneinfo/right), the time is off by 22s. See bug #137705 for an explanation of the underlying problem. A patch is available on "http://mira.66h.42h.de/pub/openntpd-3.9p1-leapsecs.diff".

hhm, the link works fine for me.... but it'd really much rather have upstream take care of feature requests like this.

while i applaud the idea to get openntpd to be leap second correct - i think this should be solved upstream. thanks
