Description Michael Jinks 2006-06-21 16:04:45 UTC
Since updating to mozilla-firefox version 1.5.0.4 (as part of 'emerge -u world'), I've lost the ability to right-click a URL in gnome-terminal and open the link. When I try, Firefox pops up an error window, saying:

Could not open the address "http://www.yahoo.com": There was an error launching the default action command associated with this location.

Googling for that error suggests that this is something that can happen if Firefox's support files are buggy, but the details are beyond my browser and XML mojo...

Move the FF profile away and try again.
Comment 2 Michael Jinks 2006-06-22 11:57:29 UTC
Don't know what the FF profile is; I tried setting aside ~/.mozilla/firefox/profiles.ini, but then firefox won't run at all; I get a popup saying (to wit, since I had to put things back in order to get at the gentoo bugs site) "Cannot execute /usr/lib/mozilla/firefox, make sure the command exists."

Oh well. It's clear I don't know what I'm doing. Closing the bug.
