Since I need to add some more options to compile PHP each time I upgrade it, I tried to add some lines for php-4.3.0-r2.ebuild to read /etc/php4/make.cli for local configuration.

This is a nasty kludge you have here (but it may be supported in a way when sticky flags come to portage eventully).

Rather, tell me what options you want and I'll sort them out properly in the ebuild.

I'll be rolling out the new PHP eclass very soon so telling me what more you want in it will be a big help.
