Description Elias Probst 2006-06-18 11:54:40 UTC
The "Virtual Mailhosting System with Postfix Guide" still mentions /etc/hostname as the place to set the hostname. This was changed long ago in baselayout, hostname is now set in /etc/conf.d/hostname.

Old:
Important: Make sure /etc/hostname is set to the right hostname for your mail server. Verify your hostname is set correctly with hostname. Also verify that there are no conflicting entries in /etc/hosts.

Corrected:
Important: Make sure /etc/conf.d/hostname is set to the right hostname for your mail server. After applying the setting by rebooting or executing "/etc/init.d/hostname restart" verify your hostname is set correctly with "hostname". Also verify that there are no conflicting entries in /etc/hosts.
