Ebuild for NEC2D electromagtic code, for simulating near and far field antenna patterns, in addition to other electromagnetic stuff. The ebuild is marked as GPL-2, as the porter of the code has said the changes he has made to the code fall under the GPL. From the author Tim Molteno: NEC2++ is a port of the Numerical Electromagnetics Code (NEC-2) to C++. This work is based on the C port by N. Kyriazis, including pieces from additional work by Jeroen Vreeken. The new portions of code are licensed under the GPL.
Created attachment 89318 [details] necpp-20041129.ebuild
Created attachment 149169 [details] Updated ebuild for modern gentoo and newer nec2pp This is based on the original bug and is simply updated to cope with modern gentoo and a newer version of necpp
Created attachment 149171 [details, diff] patch to not link statically and to build correctly This patch goes along with the necpp-1.2.3.ebuild

Not sure if this is temporary, but the URLs here don't seem to be functional. Found what I think are the first and third parts of this here: http://www.nec2.org/ This archive appears to have all three: http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/ham/antenna/NEC/
Crud, sorry - wrong window - the above was for the nec2doc package (may also be useful for this one, if there were to be a "docs" flag added)
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. No comments have been made on this bug report for some time. Is anyone still interested in integration of this package? If yes, please indicate that here in this bug report. Otherwise we'll resolve the bug in the near future, since sci(-*) has an extremely large number of pending package requests and we would like to focus...
