Running a Win98 image in qemu 0.8.1 with kqemu enabled (1.3.0_pre7), I downloaded and attempted to install the latest version of Firefox. The download worked fine, but when the installer launched the system completely froze (not just qemu; everything), and there was nothing I could do about it (even magic SysRq didn't work). Still doggy slow and not puppy fast. ... we have the technology. we can upgrade it.
0.8.2 and kqemu pre9 in portage, it should address your problems
Are you sure ? The changelogs doesn't mention anything about system freeze, and I'm a little hesitant to try this again unless I can be reasonably sure it's been fixed =P
well that shouldn't happen at all. Check upstream mailing list about the issue.
