Comment 2 radfoj 2006-06-16 03:40:36 UTC
Hi, few hours ago I guess, that it should be related to new kdebase-patchset provided yestarday, but no, it seems its not related. Becouse I am not able to REBUILD currently installed versions of kicker or ksyguard.

Its strange, becouse its not so long I migrate to gcc-4.1.1 (with reemerging system $ world). Nothing failed. Than I continue with upgrade to kde-3.5.3 - also this builded cleanly. Since then, I dont realize any other big system upgrades.

!!! ERROR: kde-base/kcontrol-3.5.3-r1 failed.

This is last error - I hope, becouse this is my last package portage want to upgrade
Comment 5 radfoj 2006-06-16 16:31:34 UTC
OK, I got it compile with

USE="-kdehiddenvisibility" kicker ksysguard kcontrol

Dont know if its good idea to mix KDE compiled with USE=kdehiddenvisibility and few (right now 3) packages without that USE. At least, I know now, that its really experimental flag which can make me little nervous.
Comment 6 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-16 16:37:55 UTC
You should enable it for everything or nothing, it's not much that you can do with it with only a few packages built with it.
Comment 7 radfoj 2006-06-16 17:00:21 UTC
(In reply to comment #6)
> You should enable it for everything or nothing,
I had this USE enabled globally (for everything), but it started to produce compile problems, so I tried to disable it per problematic package.

OK, its time to globally disable it (before next kde upgrade). Especially when this USE should cause INVALID bugreport.
