since I upgraded from xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r11 to xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060603-r1 I cannot play DVDs with kaffeine anymore. KCrash cannot reach kdeinit, launching directly. The same happens on my laptop with the only difference that the dvd-device there is /dev/hdc and kaffeine tries to acces /dev/hda5 which is my /-partition on the laptop. Of cource kaffeine is configured correctly on both machines. A downgrade to xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r11 solves the problem and I can access DVDs again.

Thanks for the backtrace and the report. The problem is in the support for playing unencrypted DVDs in latest xine-lib CVS. I've found the problem and now I'm preparing the new patchset and committing the fix upstream :) Soon -r2 will fix the problem.
