Description DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2006-06-14 00:12:17 UTC
after an event timed out, I clicked "edit" to get access to the text.

I can CP text from Memo to Gaim, from Gaim to OOo2-writer, but not directly from Memo to OOo2. It works from OOo2 to Memo !

I was not able to replicate this, could you please retry with the latest openoffice?

I was able to cut and paste using the middle-mouse-button method AND using CTRL+C / CTRL+V both from memo to oowriter2, and from oowriter2 to memo. My actual versions that worked:

[ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-2.0.3 USE="cairo firefox gnome gtk java ldap pam xml -binfilter -debug -eds -kde -mono -odk"
[ebuild R ] rox-extra/memo-1.9.5 0 kB
Comment 2 DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2006-10-03 05:25:55 UTC
You are right, it works.

I mark "invalid" cause ... maybe my initial test was wrong: I have found a way to reproduce:
- select text in OO, and slide to Memo text zone ... but manage to make mice walk throught calandar part of memo

When mouse avoiding the calendat, DD works as cut/paste

way from Memo to OO always does copy/paste, whether going above calandar or not ...

Invalid because there may be a chance the bug never existed the way I thought it did ...
Comment 3 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-03 06:30:02 UTC
Yes, I can replicate this now, thanks for the update!

I don't believe the problem is limited to Memo, though. It looks to me like any gtk-calendar will kill a DND from OpenOffice if you pass over it on the way to your destination.

Yes, I believe this is actually an OpenOffice issue. If I drag text from oowriter2 and move over any GTK calendar widget (say, from 'zenity --calendar', or Memo) and hover there for any length of time, the drag is forgotten and the mouse cursor reverts back to normal.

So, do you want to report this to OpenOffice?
Comment 4 DEMAINE Benoît-Pierre, aka DoubleHP 2006-10-03 06:38:58 UTC
no, I am not to report to OOo because I dont use any other calendar ...

I do believe it could be an OOo problem since I said I also noticed that rox -> oo = copy whereas oo -> rox = cut ... thats not symetrical.
