Sorry, I forgot to explain a little bit more. When I switch from a file to another, toolbar icons move of place or dissappear completely of the toolbar. This is 100% reproducible and happens EVERY TIME I switch of files. It never worked correctly. This bug appears to be reported upstream: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56229
Removing $KDEHOME/share/apps/katepart/katepartui.rc seems to solve the problem! I will upload it ASAP. Is this file obsolete/used ? I also uploaded the problematic file upstream in the KDE bug 56229

katepartui.rc is installed by kdelibs. As this seems not to be Gentoo specific, I'll track the upstream bug.
