When using ps2pdf or gs directly or through kde print to pdf dialog ugly pdfs are generated. The letters are "jumping" up and down. This problem is valid for app-text/ghostscript-esp-8.15.1_p20060430 and ghostscript-esp-7.07.1-r10 as well as the gnu version. The following command was used to convert postscript to pdf: gs -dNOPLATFONTS -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -q -sDEVICE=pdfwrite -sOutputFile=test.pdf -dSAFER -c .setpdfwrite -f pdfproblem.ps I have attached the three files (ps and pdfs). I don't know if it is an upstream problem or gentoo specific (patches or so).

It's not a ghostscript bug: see https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210256
