I have a ibm t60 with x1400 and tried to use fglrx, but ever gets black screen and seconds later system lock. My first diagnose is that the downgrade of xorg-x11-7.1 was not completly successful. More curiosity, When i set my second core offline, i could load on first one conservative govenour , then i could start the X using fglrx after that i could reenable second core at that him on conservative too all works fine... BUT WHY????
This involves a version of ati-drivers with an ebuild bug that does not define SMP correctly when compiling. Please reopen if this is still an issue with ati-drivers >= 8.34.8.
