The couple of things I mentioned in mail, one minor and one which is almost 
cosmetic for a running ebuild.

  The attached patch:

	* Moves the repeated sed calls in to an external patch.  They don't do
	  what they claim anyway, and the patch route guarantees application or
	  fail.
	* Correct compiler is used.
