adding as einfo gpassws -a $username usb + restart computer could help some people to make it work as non root

it could also be done for the same kind of software such as gphoto and similar

libgphoto2 already does this:

    einfo "Don't forget to add yourself to the plugdev group "
    einfo "if you want to be able to access your camera."
