Description Clemmitt M. Sigler 2006-06-08 07:30:35 UTC
Hi,

I've installed nxserver-freenx-0.5.0.20060311-r1 with the USE flag "commercial" (have it listed in my USE flags in /etc/make.conf). However, it blocks nxclient. I've been using the testing versions of the NX ebuilds for about a year now, and I believe the recent upgrade in nxserver-freenx made this change.

I've found that by using the USE flag "nxclient" (as listed in use.local.desc) this works fine, and nxclient isn't blocked by nxserver-freenx. Therefore, it appears that this newer ebuild no longer honours USE=commercial. As a test, I removed "commercial" from my USE flags, and it made no difference.

If the "commercial" USE flag is deprecated, please update the docs and remove it from the use.local.desc file.

Thanks for packaging such an important and useful utility and getting it to work so well!

Yes. The commercial use flag was renamed to nxclient. The hope was to make this easier for others that have never installed freenx. Many people saw the commercial use flag and just turned it off because they didn't know what it meant. So, hopefully when they see nxclient, they will know that it includes the nxclient support. That was the only thing that the commercial use flag did anyways, so we figured we would make it less ambiguous. :)

Thanks for using Bugzilla to report this. :)

Cheers.
