I only obtained to make the Gentoo to recognize my PCMCIA compiling kernel the 2,4 with support PCMCIA, differently of what the documentation says. I compiled in a Notebook Compaq Presario 1255 AMD K6 II 333MHZ with 32MB and HD of 4GB
