As layman now supports git repositories it should depend on git.

Hm, we had that discussion yesterday and I did not want to pull in the cogito dependency by default just because we have one or two such overlays. 

But there was also some opposition to the "git" useflag I added initially. I will discuss it again.

layman shows a nice error message that tells you to emerge cogito when you want to add a git overlay and do not have it installed.

git is optional and thus should not be a DEPEND, thanks

may be it would be reasonable to add appropriate USE flag since then?
