is your user in the plugdev group ? Do you use gnome-volume-manager ?
i'm in plugdev group and i use kde.
what exactly happens? lshal of the device... You're very vague in your description. Please include some syslogs of hal.. run hal from the command line with a -v option to give some output... Help us... help you.
Created attachment 89338 [details] sometimes hald dont start heare is syslog part with all log that hald produced when died :(
Created attachment 89340 [details] after normal start of hald after while i was run /etc/init.d/hald restart hald runs normally but not monitoring removable media
Comment on attachment 89338 [details] sometimes hald dont start And sometimes we like to attach things that are clear text as text rather then binary..
Comment on attachment 89340 [details] after normal start of hald and normally it's polite to attach messages as text.. Ha.. I made a funny.. used the name of the files in the bug comment
And now hald from the command line.. hald --daemon=no --verbose=yes
Created attachment 89385 [details] hald.log log from hald start was too big so i was attach heare
And what happens at the end of this? I possilby have an idea why removable media isn't being monitored... but the fact that hal-runner is giving those errors tells me something else is going on with your system. Ensure you've fully updated your system... stop hal and kill anything else that's hal that is running
(In reply to comment #10) > And what happens at the end of this? Ensure you've > fully updated your system... stop hal and kill anything else that's hal that is > running > i was tryed run hal in signle user mode i was start dbus , then run hal hald still dont starting hald-addon-storage i was check this on other machine witch celeron 433 motherboard on sis620 chipset the same situation... :S maybe there is a kernel option that i was turn off??? can some one give me a list of all options in kernel 2.6.18 that should be turned on? all other apps in my system works fine so there is no problem with my system weird think is that hal-0.5.5.1-r3 works fine...
Created attachment 100864 [details] log from lshal when hal-0.5.5.1 is installed lshal from properly working hald version 0.5.5.1
Created attachment 100865 [details] log from lshal when hal-0.5.7.1 is installed log from lshal when hald 0.5.7.1 is runing - there is something wrong - less devices???
