Description Dominique Michel 2006-06-05 12:05:38 UTC
Antennavis: OpenGL antenna visualisation toolkit for nec2.
The application lets the user fly around and view the antenna systems and their patterns from any angle in 3D. There are several means of viewing the patterns, through rendered, variable-size cubes, smooth shaded polygonal surface approximations, and color-mapped spheres.

The application will also allow the user to adjust the shape and position of individual elements in the antenna's geometry with intuitive mouse movements. You can modify element length, diameter, and location. You can also add "walls" to the structure, which are modelled as solid suface patches. These tools are useful in determining how the radiation pattern is affected by changes in antenna geometry and nearby obstructions.

The Numerical Electromagnetics code (NEC-2) is a computer code for analyzing
the electromagnetic response of an arbitrary structure consisting of wires and
surfaces in free space or over a ground plane. The analysis is accomplished by
the numerical solution of integral equations for induced currents. The
excitation may be an incident plane wave or a voltage source on a wire, while
the output may include current and charge density, electric or magnetic field
in the vicinity of the structure, and radiated fields.

ebuild for antennavis

This ebuild install a binary nec2 in /usr/bin with the use flag nec2. Don't sure if it is the right place or if it will be better in /opt/bin.
