Description Nicolas Lidzborski 2003-01-08 20:49:00 UTC
Gaim configure script seems to have problems with version x.y.z with (z > 9) I
guess.

# glib-config --version
1.2.10

# emerge gaim
...
checking for GLIB - version >= 1.2.5... no
*** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why...
*** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the
*** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB was incorrectly installed
*** or that you have moved GLIB since it was installed. In the latter case, you
*** may want to edit the glib-config script: /usr/bin/glib-config
configure: error:
*** GLib is required to build Gaim; please make sure you have the GLib
*** development headers installed. The latest version of GLib is
*** always available at http://www.gtk.org/.

In addittion to the compile problem I also get this error when trying to run gaim

gaim: relocation error: gaim: undefined symbol: perl_eval_pv

Other versions of gaim do not compile as well.
