Description Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-01 10:29:02 UTC
Mark 1.19 version as stable. Changes between 1.17beta and 1.19 are only bugs fixes.

ebuild name would be most useful...
Comment 2 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-01 10:38:36 UTC

Comment 4 Sander Knopper 2006-06-02 03:00:06 UTC
on x86:

[ebuild N ] www-servers/mini_httpd-1.19 -ipv6 +ssl

Compiles fine.

I set the DOCROOT as stated during installation and started the server, this gave me this notice:

/usr/sbin/mini_httpd: logfile is not within the chroot tree, you will not be able to re-open it

I didn't change anything except for the DOCROOT which I uncommented but didn't change it's value. So if this is so important why not provide a configuration which doesn't generate this warning?

Anyway, I connected to localhost:8080 and everything works fine.

x86:

[ebuild R ] www-servers/mini_httpd-1.19 USE="ssl -ipv6" 0 kB

Compilation ok.

Uncommented DOCROOT and started the service. I got the same warning that Sander Knopper,:

usr/sbin/mini_httpd: logfile is not within the chroot tree, you will not be
able to re-open it

I think that,

1. This warning should not appear with the default configuration
2. It should be redirected to the log
3. CHROOTING should be an option in the conf. If you choose chrooting the default log should be inside de jail.

More things, when stoppping the service i got this awful message,

 * Stopping mini_httpd ...
/usr/sbin/mini_httpd: exiting due to signal 15 [ok]

I think that the message : exiting due to signal 15 should not appear here.

The program is working properly. I have browsed some of my apache pages from 192.168.0.1:8080 quite properly.

www-servers, can we get www-servers/mini_httpd-1.17_beta1 removed from the tree? Thanks :)
