Description Bryan Jacobs 2006-05-30 15:22:36 UTC
xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r1 simply refuses to play my AAC files, saying that the "audio output is unavailable". I beg to differ.

mplayer plays these files fine. So does xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r8.

However, xine-lib-1.1.2_pre20060328-r8 freezes at the end of AAC tracks. I am not a happy customer.

There are dozens of possible causes here: both my home directory and music directory are on AFS (although I've symlinked .xine to /tmp to allow socket creation, which does raise the question of why any program is stupid enough to try to run mknod in a user's home dir?), I just recompiled my system with gcc 4.1.1 which was when I noticed the problem, etc etc. I would appreciate a newer version of xine - or an arch-testing to tell me where the source of my problem lies.

Please try with latest 20060606 snapshot available, there are a few AAC fixes in that, but I'll also add a new snapshot soon too.
Comment 4 Bryan Jacobs 2006-06-29 16:09:42 UTC
Yes, the new xine appears to work just fine.

I don't know what changed, but I can play my AACs again, so I'm happy.
