Description Chris Jenkinson 2006-05-30 09:05:25 UTC
I get this error when performing "emerge -uDavt --newuse world". I've tried resynchronising a number of times over the last day.

These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order:

Calculating world dependencies ...done!
[ebuild U ] mail-filter/qmail-scanner-2.01 [1.25-r1] +spamassassin 0 kB

Total size of downloads: 0 kB

>>> emerge (1 of 1) mail-filter/qmail-scanner-2.01 to /

!!! Digest verification Failed:

!!! Reason: Filesize does not match recorded size

>>> Please ensure you have sync'd properly. Please try 'emerge sync' and
>>> optionally examine the file(s) for corruption. A sync will fix most cases.

I get a different, digest-related error:

well - the digest WORKSFORME

is this still a problem?

please try to delete the files
/usr/portage/distfiles/q-s-2.01st-20060423.patch.gz
/usr/portage/distfiles/qmail-scanner-2.01.tgz

and retry...
it seems the files got corrupted during download (or perhaps are corrupted on one (or more) of the mirrors)

thanks

Version 2.01 isn't marked stable any more. I have 1.25 installed now as that is the highest stable version in portage.
