Current version in stable is 20050314. prelink-20060213 has been added on 11th of April to the testing tree and doesn't seem to have outstanding bugs. There are some bugs on on prelink, but those are already solved or invalid but not marked as such. Check bugs #82117 (solved by adding comment), #100147 (harmless test failures that also occur in current stable), #105942 (prelink on a broken kde install, no more reaction from reporter), #108949 (unsolvable issue -> comment 2) and #116435 (amule ebuild to be fixed for missing depends, but independent of prelink version).
I agree with the reporter. (good summery) x86 team - when you have time any chance of moving it to stable after an install test? Thanks.
Builds, installs and works fine on stable x86. I've been using prelink on all my boxes, this same version and it works in those too. Runtime test I've made was simple "prelink -amR" and after that launching several programs including X.org, mplayer, firefox, thunderbird, Xfce4, and several others. No problems at all. Good to go stable on x86. Please note the USE="pic", in case you missed it.
I'm assigning this to base-system, since nobody really asked them if we should do this. Also, I think that they should add any other arches if they think this should go stable.
Sorry, I found a bug in testing prelink now. Added to the bug depend list.
I only really wanted to mark it stable on x86 as I cannot test any other arch (well I sort of have access to AMD64) My bad for not labeling it well. Ok to mark stable for x86? ( as long as 136579 is a arch dependant bug )
Please readd x86@ when #136579 is resolved and the new prelink can go stable, thanks!
cretin: your call to change the subject to reflect 20060712 and ask for arches to stabilize it again. for me, it works on: x86, amd64, ppc (ppc64-32ul profile)
cretin: *bump* you can call for 20060712 stable on all arches now.
Arches please mark stable prelink-20060712-r1 Thanks

stable on amd64
I'm marking this ppc stable because the currently stable version is breaking people's systems (see bug #158278).
