When upgrading to modular xorg, then downgrading back to xorg-6.8, the modular xorg /usr/lib/xorg/modules stays while /usr/lib/modules is all but empty. Since xorg-6.8 looks in /usr/lib/modules for drivers (nvidia and glx in my case) and whatnot, it finds nothing and won't start. Copying /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers to /usr/lib/xorg/drivers allows X to run, but glx still isn't found. I haven't tried copying the entire directory over yet, and will do that later. I'm not sure if this is even a bug and or for that matter something that can be easily fixed, but I'm in over my head and figured I should try something. Thanks.
Did you re-merge the nvidia drivers after downgrading? This is a must for the drivers to show up in that directory.
I recall re-merging the drivers a few times, but just to be sure I could try upgrading and downgrading again, then re-emerging nvidia-glx? I'd rather not, but it'll only take some extra time, now that I know the temp fix.
Nah, don't worry about it. I'm quite sure that would fix the problem. I'll mark this INVALID for now since the fix is currently user-side.

Had reemerged drivers, unmerged all xorg packages. Still couldnt get it to work :/
I will post my logs in the evening, now I am at work
