Description Philipp Toelke 2006-05-26 07:18:16 UTC
Hi all,

I just tried to emerge mkvtoolnix, and the oom had to come and clean away my window-manager which I found odd, because normally about 700M of my 1G RAM are free.

I have now traced the problem: It was my MAKEOPTS="-j4" (I have a dual-core). With -j1 still much memory is used but not enough to cause problems.

I propose, that the ebuild somehow forces the use of -j1.

Cheers, Philipp

Feel free to reopen w/ a patch (not forcing -j1 though). Otherwise, get yourself more memory. :)
