Created attachment 87531 [details] audacious-infopipe-1.3.ebuild Ebuild for audacious-infopipe
Created attachment 87532 [details, diff] xmms-infopipe-for-audacious.patch Patch to make xmms-infopipe work with audacious
Created attachment 87533 [details] autogen.sh Required to re-build the configure script
I used a (upstream-provided) hack to get this working properly namely, "#define I_AM_A_THIRD_PARTY_DEVELOPER_WHO_NEEDS_TO_BE_KICKED_IN_THE_HEAD_BY_CHUCK_NORRIS" /usr/include/audacious/configfile.h: /* * Poison all of the xmms ConfigFile interfaces as we are to * no longer use these anymore. They have been deprecated since 0.2, * and will be REMOVED in 1.2. * * If you are a third party developer and you need a quick fix, add * #define I_AM_A_THIRD_PARTY_DEVELOPER_WHO_NEEDS_TO_BE_KICKED_IN_THE_HEAD_BY_CHUCK_NORRIS * to your code. * * - nenolod, 05/09/2006 */ I'll xmms-infopipe to use the newer bmp_cfg_db_* (/usr/include/audacious/configdb.h) functions when I have time. Until that time (or until audacious upstream decides to remove the old functions entirely, rather than poisoning them) this will continue to work.
Created attachment 87583 [details] audacious-infopipe-1.3.ebuild New ebuild Guess I had time to sort the new functions out a bit sooner than I thought, but a real programmer should probably take a look over the code to see if I've screwed up anything major :)
Created attachment 87584 [details, diff] xmms-infopipe-configdb-over-configfile.patch Patch to use configdb.h rather than configfile.h
Created attachment 87605 [details] audacious-infopipe-1.3.ebuild Fixed ebuild to make the autogen.sh script executable
Created attachment 87607 [details] audacious-infopipe-1.3.ebuild Should be my final ebuild for media-plugins/audacious-infopipe, I've tied up bugzilla enough with all these revisions. Made a tarball of the patched source, and updated the ebuild to use that. It's also in the ebuild, but the tarball is available at http://sdesign.us/files/audacious-infopipe-1.3.tar.bz2
Created attachment 87608 [details] audacious-infopipe-1.3.ebuild Last one, I promise... =)
In my opinion, infopipe is deprecated by audtool included with Audacious 1.1. Audtool was developed as an asynchronous replacement to infopipe, and has the benefit of not having all of the bugginess that infopipe has. :)
(this is an automated message based on filtering criteria that matched this bug) 'EBUILD' is in the KEYWORDS which should mean that there is a ebuild attached to this bug. This bug is assigned to maintainer-wanted which means that it is not in the main tree. Heuristics show that no Gentoo developer has commented on your ebuild. Hello, The Gentoo Team would like to firstly thank you for your ebuild submission. We also apologize for not being able to accommodate you in a timely manner. There are simply too many new packages. Allow me to use this opportunity to introduce you to Gentoo Sunrise. The sunrise overlay[1] is a overlay for Gentoo which we allow trusted users to commit to and all users can have ebuilds reviewed by Gentoo devs for entry into the overlay. So, the sunrise team is suggesting that you look into this and submit your ebuild to the overlay where even *you* can commit to. =) Because this is a mass message, we are also asking you to be patient with us. We anticipate a large number of requests in a short time. Thanks, On behalf of the Gentoo Sunrise Team, Jeremy. This will not support Audacious 2.4; the API updates required have not been performed. We have had a songchange plugin for quite a while that can do the same thing in a safer way (I have seen severe instability caused by the infopipe plugin, which is why I chose not to merge it).
