I'm trying to get ufo2000 compiled. builds fine for me. remerge dumb and aldumb and see if that helps.
(In reply to comment #1) > builds fine for me. remerge dumb and aldumb and see if that helps. What flags did you use to build allegro? Do you have "my" versions/revisions of dumb and aldumb installed?
What do you mean by "my" revisions?
(In reply to comment #3) > What do you mean by "my" revisions? The versions/revisions of the packages, which I've got installed. Looking at the error message, it seems to me, as if dumbogg.c would expect "different" make_duh and dumb_reset_resampler functions, which IMO could only happen, if the version of the library (or whatever) which provides these functions is not compatible to games-strategy/ufo2000-0.6.627 Because of that, I also don't understand why recompiling {al,}dumb should help - especially since {al,}dumb got installed a few "seconds" before ufo2000.
$ md5sum /usr/include/dumb.h 708d03a41e73347902666d4038cc2587 /usr/include/dumb.h what's yours say?

Ah, it's because dumb-0.9.3 has a different api then 0.9.2. Pretty interesting. I don't see mention of that in the release doc either.
This API change in DUMB is quite unfortunate. Probably we'll have to to include DUMB library into UFO2000 source tree just like some other rare/not very well supperted libraries (in 'src/some_library_name' subdirectory) for one of the next versions of the game. As a workaround ufo2000 can be emerged with '-vorbis' USE flag as music support is not so critical. And at least now ebuild can be updated to clearly state that DUMB version must be in fact <0.9.2 in order to avoid confusion.
That API change is definitely DUMB. *grin* Anyway, I've fixed up the ufo2000 ebuild.
