Description ivo welch 2006-05-23 11:37:19 UTC
almost as if every second pixel line were missing from the image. poppler 0.5.1 renders just fine. (acroread also renders just fine.) reverting back to 0.5.1 fixes the problem. ghostscript-afpl is at 8.53-r5 on my system. (-esp and -gnu are not installed.)

upstream is working on releasing a 0.5.3 version to fix this issue, please downgrade in the time being, thanks!

Today
Comment 4 James Cloos 2006-05-24 05:25:29 UTC
Todays poppler cvs works again, w/o even having to run revdep-rebuild.
Comment 5 PL Hayes 2006-05-24 23:48:55 UTC
This package should be masked or removed completely: it isn't just occasional poor rendering - what text is visible is almost unreadable, text on the RHS is completely missing and I haven't found a pdf yet that isn't affected.
Comment 6 Joël 2006-05-28 05:18:26 UTC
Confirmed... 0.5.2 is worthless, should be masked
Comment 7 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-29 07:53:23 UTC
I masked 0.5.2, they are apparently slow in releasing new versiojns upstream :(
Comment 8 stefan.ihringer 2006-05-29 23:57:02 UTC
Seems like you masked 0.5.3? That version works fine for me.
Comment 9 stefan.ihringer 2006-05-30 00:00:33 UTC
Sorry, my bad. It's version 0.5.3 of evince which has been masked...
Comment 10 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-01 11:38:22 UTC
this will be fixed in 0.5.3 after unmasking
