Description Erik Zeek 2006-05-22 20:54:18 UTC
sci-libs/gdal-1.3.2 appears to have the gcc4 patch incorporated in the upstream source. I examined the source file fit/fitdataset.cpp, and it has the relevant changes already incorporated. I removed the patch lines and the emerge continued, but failed with an unrelated error later on. I'll file a separate bug report if warrented.

Sorry about the double report. I hit refresh in the morning.

After removing the lines that applied the broken gcc4 patch, gdal fails to build. I checked, and the current patch wouldn't affect this problem. I'm currently compiling with 3.4.6 to see if it works there.

Comment 3 Erik Zeek 2006-05-24 14:11:54 UTC
Fails with gcc-3.4.6 too, but it's not gdal's fault. libgeos was compiled with gcc4, so I end up with undefined references in libgeos. I'm going to assume that I could get it to compile be recompiling libgeos, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the reader.

I found a bug for this on the GDAL bugzilla:
