It's easiest to work with just one bug in one issue, so lets focus on the first part:

> in a real tty (not in X) when type echo standby>/sys/power/state the
> computer power off

You can file new bugs for the other parts after we have solved this one.

Is this a new bug in 2.6.16, or has it happened in other kernels too (which ones?). Are there any known kernels which do not have this bug?

i don't know because i accidentaly add pnp support(usualy i don't add it)
should i test with others kernels?
wich ones(a 2.6.15)?

i have also another problem...there is still some standby bugs after removing this pnp support...lol(i'll bugreport later but it can be an interesting information)

Two things to try:

Firstly, see if you can reproduce this on the latest development kernel. This is currently 2.6.17-rc5.

Secondly, why are you using suspend-to-standby? There are only very small power savings involved there. I think you want to be using suspend-to-RAM (echo mem > /sys/power/state)

i'll stay with it...

Will be fixed in gentoo-sources-2.6.17 then, thanks.
