Description Jesse Morgan (morgajel) 2006-05-22 05:34:56 UTC
So I've attempted to convert a bsd user to gentoo- he had issues with the installer dying 3/4 of the way though. Unfortunately by the time I did get in, he had already formatted and installed FreeBSD.

One complaint he had was the system was apparently bootable, but he was unable to log into his windows partition from grub.

Could the installer possibly detect other OS and add them to the bootloader? Windows I think was the big one.

The installer already looks for fat32 and NTFS partitions adds them to grub.conf when found.

actaully, in the released version, i believe only lilo detects windows partitions. This has been added for grub in the newest version.

Sounds like a resolution to me
