when performing 'emerge drscheme' (dev-scheme/drscheme-301-r2) it compiles OK. I can't seem to reproduce this, are you absolutely sure that there are no hardware problems in your system?

Reopen wrt Bug 136504.
Hmmm ... I must have searched only open bugs or I would have seen this one. Anyhow, as I posted on 136504, I downloaded the source from the home page and it does approximately the same thing, so it is quite possibly upstream. It looks to me like most of the DrScheme users download precompiled binaries. I filed a bug with DrScheme but have not heard back from them yet.
I have a URL for the bug on the DrScheme home page: http://bugs.plt-scheme.org/query/?cmd=view&pr=8107 Does this look like the same issue? I did a "3m" build and install. Both that and the normal one blew up, but in different ways. And both appear to have generated usable executables, etc. Quite a bit of the install has been done by the time it croaks.
It seems to die in a different place, but it's the same error when it dies, my guess is that this is the same problem.
Could you try with dev-scheme/drscheme-351 and reopen if it doesn't work.

(In reply to comment #8) > Could you try with dev-scheme/drscheme-351 and reopen if it doesn't work. Nothing new here, all versions fail like this...
This should be fixed with dev-scheme/drscheme-352-r1, please reopen if it's still happening.
