The problem is it appears you are mixing ~x86 with x86. Perl-5.8.8 isn't x86 yet - but your make.conf indicates that your preference. To do is to stick with one or the other :)
Comment 3 Mike Baikov 2006-05-18 22:03:24 UTC
not clear :(

I'm using spamassassin ~x86, but spamassassin ~x86 using some perl libs x86. This problem.
Comment 4 Mike Baikov 2006-05-18 22:04:42 UTC
i.e spamassassin ~x86 req perl 5.8.8, but some perl libs x86 using only perl 5.8.7

This is still a problem of your mixing ~x86 and x86. Your being forced back because while your perl may be ~x86, you have ~arched all of dev-perl, perl-core, and virtual/perl-* - so your being forced back because the stable of some of those only allows for the stable perl. Most of this is probably moot at this point, however, since 5.8.8 is in the process of being stabled.
Comment 6 Yuval Yaari (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-06-10 14:47:02 UTC
Is this still relevant, now that 5.8.8-r2 is x86 (and will hopefully be marked stable on all archs soon)?
Comment 7 Mike Baikov 2006-06-22 06:01:57 UTC
now fixed (imho). Thanks a lot
