Description Simon Ruggier 2006-05-14 11:42:06 UTC
If I run a java app from the gnome panel GUI, or from a terminal, it uses a different virtual machine. From a terminal, it uses the one I set in java-config, whereas from the GUI it uses the system default. This happens in multiple versions of gnome, but right now I'm using gnome-base/gnome-panel-2.14.1.

Why should they? It's not a login shell.

How am I supposed to designate a java runtime then, if gnome won't respect the setting in my bashrc?

Hasn't this been fixed with the new java ebuilds/eclasses/utilities ?

If not, feel free to reopen, but CC the java herd as they are responsible for anything and everything Java in Gentoo. Gnome herd just nods along :)

Thanks
