The attached ebuild updates zabbix-frontend-1.1_alpha7.ebuild for the current Zabbix release, 1.1 beta 9. This updated ebuild includes these changes: 1. Added warning to compile PHP with USE="GD" as suggested by Peter Gordon responding to bug 110171. 2. Added patch zabbix-map-connection.patch to allow new connection lines to be added to network maps. This ebuild requires the zabbix-map-connection.patch file, which is attached. Related ebuilds for zabbix-agent and zabbix-server will be submitted shortly.

Created attachment 88510 [details] Alternate ebuild for Zabbix frontend 1.1 This builds upon Anatoly's contribution with these changes: 1. Require gd, which Zabbix uses to create graphs and maps. If the user does not want these graphics, the more mature Nagios would probably be a better choice for system monitoring. 2. Use the depend.php eclass to manage PHP and its related requirements. 3. Exploit the webapp eclass to protect configuration files during upgrades and to display installation guidance when the frontend is installed into a virtual host, not when the package is built. This requires the postinstall-en-1.1.txt attachment, which follows.
Created attachment 88511 [details] Installation guidance This guidance is displayed by webapp-config when installing the frontend into a virtual host. Store this file in /usr/portage/net-analyzer/zabbix-frontend/files.
Taking this over from iggy.
