I've just emerged lyx-1.3.5-r2.ebuild and it compiled all fine but as it shows some additional information in the end the following errors occured: /usr/portage/app-office/lyx/lyx-1.3.5-r2.ebuild: line 147: draw_line: command not found /usr/portage/app-office/lyx/lyx-1.3.5-r2.ebuild: line 158: draw_line: command not found Guess that command isn't available anymore. Simply erasing those lines should fix it. If needed: emerge --info Portage 2.0.54-r2 (default-linux/x86/2005.1, gcc-3.4.5, glibc-2.3.6-r3, 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.16-gentoo-r7 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.12.0_pre19 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0-r1 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /opt/glftpd/etc /opt/glftpd/ftp-data /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/env /usr/kde/3.4/share/config /usr/kde/3.4/shutdown /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/lib/X11/xkb /usr/lib/mozilla/defaults/pref /usr/share/config /usr/share/texmf/dvipdfm/config/ /usr/share/texmf/dvips/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/texmf/xdvi/ /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/eselect/compiler /etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=pentium4 -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks sandbox sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://ftp-stud.fht-esslingen.de/pub/Mirrors/gentoo/ http://gd.tuwien.ac.at/opsys/linux/gentoo/ ftp://pandemonium.tiscali.de/pub/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 X acpi alsa apm arts audiofile avi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bzip2 cdr cli crypt curl divx4linux doc dri dvd dvdr eds emboss encode exif expat fam ffmpeg foomaticdb fortran ftp gd gdbm gif glut gmp gnome gpm gstreamer gtk gtk2 gtkhtml idn ieee1394 imagemagick imlib ipv6 isdnlog java jpeg lcms libg++ libwww lirc lm_sensors mad mhash mikmod mmx mng mono motif mozilla mp3 mpeg mysql ncurses nls ogg oggvorbis openal opengl pam pcmcia pcre pdflib perl php png pppd python quicktime readline reflection samba sdl session snmp sockets spell spl sse ssl tcltk tcpd tetex tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts udev usb vcd vorbis wifi win32codecs xine xml xml2 xmms xorg xv xvid zlib userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS, LINGUAS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS
I'm working towards stabilizing one of the 1.4.x versions (if I can get rid of all the bugs that are left). So this will be fixed when that happens.
1.4.1-r1 is stable now, so resolving.
