When you create a new account, do you have the same problem?
Comment 2 p cooper 2006-05-08 14:49:19 UTC
When I start X and kde as root konqueror seems to start normally
Comment 3 Charlie Shepherd (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-03 13:32:01 UTC
Is this still a problem with konqueror-3.5.5?
Comment 4 p cooper 2007-02-03 19:44:13 UTC
konqueror still dies

this is the output of the kde log as it starts and then dies

Comment 5 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-04 20:32:02 UTC
Sorry not coming back on this one. The problem may stem from fiddling with Control Center -> KDE Components - File Associations. You can either have a look at it, choose an valid image or simply delete ~/.kde/share/mimelnk/inode/directory.desktop and any other broken entry.

Another option is that you chose an icon-set, which doesn't provide the relevant .png (rather unlikely) and KDE does not fall back (didn't check that).

If you want to clean up `rm -rf ~/.kde/share/mimelnk ~/.kde/share/applnk` kills all your modified entries.

For sure a local problem, therefore marking invalid.
