Description Alexander Skwar 2006-05-07 11:55:34 UTC
Copying from bug #101691 comment #193

I've now got a different error, when I try to emerge net-misc/nxclient-1.5.0-r4
which is *NOT* from the overlay:

>>> Test phase [not enabled]: net-misc/nxclient-1.5.0-r4

>>> Install nxclient-1.5.0-r4 into /Gentoo/Portage/build/portage/nxclient-1.5.0-r4/image/ category net-misc
cp: cannot stat `usr': No such file or directory
rmdir: /Gentoo/Portage/build/portage/nxclient-1.5.0-r4/image//usr/NX/lib: No
such file or directory

!!! ERROR: net-misc/nxclient-1.5.0-r4 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1525:   Called dyn_install
  ebuild.sh, line 1002:   Called src_install
  nxclient-1.5.0-r4.ebuild, line 73:   Called die

!!! leftover libraries in
/Gentoo/Portage/build/portage/nxclient-1.5.0-r4/image//usr/NX/lib
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if
relevant.

Before I did the emerge, I did "rm -rf /Gentoo/Portage/build/portage/*".

Flags:

[ebuild  N    ]  net-misc/nxclient-1.5.0-r4  USE="xft" 0 kB

Responding to bug #101691 comment #194:

No, no weird setup at all. I simply set in make.conf:

PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/Gentoo/Portage/build"
PORTDIR="/Gentoo/Portage/tree"
DISTDIR="/Gentoo/Portage/distfiles"
PKGDIR="/Gentoo/Portage/packages"

But actually, I'm thinking that this might be some sort of dupe to bug #123386 comment #8. In this report, a different user also had this "cp: cannot stat `usr': No such file or directory" error.

I'm on ~x86.

Hi,

nxclient-1.5.0-r5 and nxclient-2.1.0 are now in Portage. Can you try these please, and see if your problem is now fixed?

Best regards,
Stu
