Description Dirk Steinberg 2003-01-04 05:49:33 UTC
device nodes for USB disks do not show up in /dev/evms,
even after manually loading ehci-hcd and usb-storage.

I therefore assume that EVMS does not recognize these disks.

Regular device nodes do show up in /dev (devfs).

We have not been able to test EVMS on USB devices, as we do not currently have
the hardware.

We'll investigate and report back.

can anyone test this?
Comment 3 corryk 2003-11-19 07:24:45 UTC
One of our developers has tested EVMS 2.x with USB storage. In general, a disk attached through USB will show up as a SCSI disk. This requires SCSI disk support in your kernel in addition to USB mass-storage support. Then your /etc/evms.conf file just needs to have entries to look for SCSI disks (which is the default setup).

If you need additional help with this setup, please send an email to evms-devel@lists.sf.net, or stop by our IRC channel at irc.freenode.net,#evms.

yeah sure it needs scsi support.
probably that was the initial problem of reporter.
