while emerging (emerge -uD world) the latest ~amd64 (there is no unmasked amd64 version) version of DateTime-Timezone i get the following error: lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Pacific/Kiritimati.pm -> blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Pacific/Kiritimati.pm lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Asia/Almaty.pm -> blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Asia/Almaty.pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Local.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone::Local.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/OffsetOnly.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone::OffsetOnly.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZoneCatalog.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZoneCatalog.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/OlsonDB.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone::OlsonDB.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/Floating.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone::Floating.3pm Manifying blib/lib/DateTime/TimeZone/UTC.pm -> blib/libdoc/DateTime::TimeZone::UTC.3pm >>> Test phase [not enabled]: dev-perl/DateTime-TimeZone-0.45 >>> Install DateTime-TimeZone-0.45 into /var/tmp/portage/DateTime-TimeZone-0.45/image/ category dev-perl ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/DateTime mkdir /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/DateTime: Permission denied at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/ExtUtils/Install.pm line 176 man: prepallstrip: >>> Completed installing DateTime-TimeZone-0.45 into /var/tmp/portage/DateTime-TimeZone-0.45/image/ --------------------------- ACCESS VIOLATION SUMMARY --------------------------- LOG FILE = "/var/log/sandbox/sandbox-dev-perl_-_DateTime-TimeZone-0.45-27067.log" mkdir: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/DateTime (symlink to /usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.7/DateTime) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- my emerge --info is the following: --- Portage 2.0.54 (selinux/2005.1/amd64, gcc-3.4.5, glibc-2.3.6-r3, 2.6.13-hardened-r2-mptfusionpatch x86_64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.13-hardened-r2-mptfusionpatch x86_64 Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.00GHz Gentoo Base System version 1.6.14 dev-lang/python: 2.3.5-r2, 2.4.2 dev-util/ccache: [Not Present] dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.12 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.59-r7 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.16.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.11-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="amd64" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -march=nocona -pipe" CHOST="x86_64-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/dev.d /etc/env.d /etc/eselect/compiler /etc/gconf /etc/gpm /etc/hotplug.d /etc/mail /etc/skel /etc/terminfo /etc/udev /etc/wget /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -march=nocona -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig distlocks loadpolicy sandbox selinux sfperms strict" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo" LANG="en_US.UTF-8" LC_ALL="en_US.UTF-8" LINGUAS="de de_CH fr fr_CH es es_ES es_MX en en_US" MAKEOPTS="-j5" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="amd64 berkdb bzip2 cdb crypt curl emul-linux-x86 expat gd geoip gmp gpm idn jpeg libwww mhash mysql ncurses nls pam pcre pdflib perl php png postgres python readline selinux snmp ssl tcpd tiff truetype udev userlocales wmf xml2 zlib linguas_de linguas_de_CH linguas_fr linguas_fr_CH linguas_es linguas_es_ES linguas_es_MX linguas_en linguas_en_US userland_GNU kernel_linux elibc_glibc" Unset: ASFLAGS, CTARGET, INSTALL_MASK, LDFLAGS
Please, don't restrict bugs without any reason...
emerge sync in a little while; i'm guessing you had module-build-0.25, right? (0.26,11 is now unmasked for amd64, so this bug should be gone)
Just to let your know that the sandbox violation is still in the x86 stable version, currently dev-perl/DateTime-TimeZone-0.40 and the latest ~x86 version dev-perl/DateTime-TimeZone-0.46. Just guessing, because of this: >>> Source unpacked. * Using ExtUtils::MakeMaker Sorry, PREFIX is not supported. See the Module::Build documentation for 'destdir' or 'install_base' instead. * Using Module::Build Checking whether your kit is complete... which leads to this: >>> Install DateTime-TimeZone-0.46 into /var/tmp/portage/DateTime-TimeZone-0.46/image/ category dev-perl ACCESS DENIED mkdir: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/DateTime mkdir /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/DateTime: Permission denied at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8/ExtUtils/Install.pm line 176

after an emerge world, it seems to work now... we don't have any problems anymore...
closing :)
