Description Pete Flaherty 2006-05-02 05:54:32 UTC
LIRC versions: ALL
LIRC daemon: mp3anywhere

Hardware for test:
X10 mp3anywhere kit(ur81a and ur51a remote), X10 MR26a rf receiver

USE Options for ebuild:
LIRC_OPTS="--with-driver=mp3anywhere -enable-debug --with-port=/dev/ttyS0"

Serial input for the mp3anywhere daemon is not able to capture properly on kernels >2.6.14. Serial input shows proper data when using 'cat /dev/ttyS0 | hexdump' and output is consistant across kernel versions.

Daemon works on kernels <=2.6.14, and is unresponsive to serial events on kernels above . Debug output shows daemon loading correctly. Irrecord also affected, as it sees no activity either,

Does this include the 0.8.0-series of lirc? Saying "ALL" versions isn't as easily tracked over time than referring to highest version. Thanks.
Comment 2 Pete Flaherty 2006-06-17 18:49:09 UTC
sorry tried current and devel verisions thru and including source code versions.
Versions (ebuuild) 0.8.0 (no rev)

From source 0.8.0 and CVS pre 0.8.1 versions all with same result.
Current Kernel on target box is 2.6.16-r3

I had a look on the lirc-configure script, and it seems to be correct to use
"--with-driver=mp3anywhere --with-tty=/dev/ttyS0"

and not "--with-port=/dev/ttyS0"

Have you tested this?
Comment 4 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2006-12-01 06:19:55 UTC
Did you already contact the lirc-developers?
Comment 5 Matthias Schwarzott gentoo-dev 2006-12-03 08:31:22 UTC
The problem is I think I as gentoo-maintainer of lirc cannot do much about this. Please contact real lirc-developers.
