until someone makes a package, you can do this. Locate the latest NVIDIA*pkg1.run file. Then type: $ sh NVIDIA*pkg1.run -x --target /tmp/nv This will extract files to /tmp/nv Then, in the /tmp/nv/usr/bin directory will be an nvidia-setttings binary. You can copy this to /usr/local/bin as a temporary hack. Same can be done with nvidia-xconfig.
Created attachment 86652 [details] nvidia-settings-1.0.ebuild In order to use this, you will have to emerge =nvidia-settings-1.0 and add ~x86 to package.keywords. I have not tested this with x64, so perhaps one of the team here would do that and modify the ebuild. Also, very curiously, nvidia has changed its versioning from nvidia-settings.1.0.mmddyy to simply 1.0. This affects how portatge will treat older versions of the nvidia-settings ebuilds and they may have to be specifically masked or removed.
I believe its called nvidia-settings-1.0.20060516.ebuild in the tree
