Description t35t0r 2006-04-30 23:06:56 UTC
sci-chemistry/pymol-0.99_rc6-r1 resets x11-base/xorg-server-1.0.99.902 if compiled without nptl (also mesa-6.5 needs to be compiled with nptl) using i810 driver and i915_dri.so .

The xorg server just resets. where can I get some logging info?

Attach /etc/X11/xorg.conf , /var/log/Xorg.0.log and `emerge --info` output.

Also your mesa version, xf86-video-i810 version. Reopen when you supply that info.

sorry hit the submit twice, i'll get the xorg.conf and Xorg.0.log's later tonight. This is the info pulled from bug 131862.

I did re-emerge pymol after emerging mesa and xorg-server without nptl (see bug 131862 as to why I did this).

You've also got xf86-input-mouse and xf86-input-keyboard (or -evdev if applicable) unmasked, right?

-nptl is no longer need in xorg-server-1.0.99.903 since aiglx works with nptl (bug #131862). 3D performance is vastly improved. No more flickering and smoother rotates in pymol.
